Rover began service to the public in April of 2007, providing comfortable and convenient bus transportation for the citizens of Murfreesboro along eight routes throughout the city.

The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is a nine-county public transportation system that serves Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson counties. RTA provides “Relax and Ride,” a daily commuter bus service shuttling riders from Murfreesboro, La Vergne and Smyrna to Nashville. RTA also works closely with the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) to link “Relax and Ride” customers to 37 MTA bus routes throughout Davidson County.
