Vision
A thriving business community within Rutherford County
During 2002-2006 a foundation waslaid to transform Rutherford County into a modern, vibrant community with a pro-business spirit. As a result, the county is increasingly being recognized regionally, nationally and internationally as a business destination. This groundwork has been built through the efforts of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, many members of the Rutherford County community and a breakout funding strategy known as Destination Rutherford.
Destination Rutherford’s momentum was ignited by millions of dollars invested in new community assets, all designed to increase the county’s attractiveness to companies, prospective investors and visitors. This sharp focus has allowed Rutherford County to emerge as a destination for corporate offices. In addition, significant strides have been made to retain and expand the county’s industrial base. Many of the community’s new jobs are from existing business growth.
The original four-year initiative laid a foundation for additional, quality job growth while continuing to raise and improve the community’s quality of life.
The Destination Rutherford II Initiative 2007-2010 continues with sustained leadership from public and private investors. With this partnership, Rutherford County will reach its long-range goals of business growth, increased tax base, new investment and enhanced quality of life — all signs of a vibrant community with a long-term vision for growth.
