Chamber University Presents Selecting Winners:
What Charlie Sheen Can Teach You About Hiring Employees
Chamber University, a professional development program of the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, will present Selecting Winners: What Charlie Sheen Can Teach You About Hiring Employees, at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, at the Chamber Building.
Attendees will hear from three human resources professionals who will discuss successful ways to find, interview, hire and keep the best employees. Panelists include Delicia Barnes, human resources manager for General Mills, Heather Bemis, senior human resources business consultant for Asurion, Inc., and Dusty Doddridge, assistant director for employer relations at the Middle Tennessee State University Career Development Center.
Barnes is responsible for providing site-wide leadership in the areas of employee development, employee relations, organizational policy and strategy and all other aspects of human resources management. Prior to working at the Murfreesboro facility, she worked in human resources roles at General Mills facilities in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Reed City, Michigan.
Bemis has over 15 years of experience as a human resources leader in the manufacturing, telecommunications, finance and engineering sectors. She is SPHR certified by the Society for Human Resource Management, and has held numerous leadership positions in local and national human resources professional organizations.
Doddridge supervises the daily operations of the MTSU Career Development Center’s campus recruiting program, manages the implementation of the recruiting software, and establishes and maintains recruiting relationships with employers. Additionally, he advises students pursuing careers in four career clusters, including Architecture and Construction; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; Manufacturing; and Information Technology.
