Kaitlin Salyer, Senior Vice President of Workforce and Education
(615) 278-2392 | [email protected] Kaitlin brings over ten years of experience building strong connections between schools, employers, and communities to support workforce and education efforts across Tennessee. Since 2021, she has served as the Talent Development Director for the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, where she has led programs that help thousands of K–12 students explore careers, grow work-based learning opportunities, and build closer ties between local employers and schools in high-need industries. Before coming to Rutherford County, Kaitlin led education and workforce initiatives for the Highlands Economic Partnership, where she supported job growth and talent development across the Upper Cumberland region. Her work helped secure funding for student-focused programs and created long-lasting partnerships between industry and education that gave more rural and underserved students access to career pathways. Throughout her career, Kaitlin has stayed involved in regional and statewide efforts to strengthen the workforce. She has served on the Upper Cumberland Labor and Workforce Development Board, the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Livingston’s Community Advisory Council, and the Tennessee Department of Education’s College, Career, and Technical Education Leadership Council. She is passionate about public service and expanding access to education. Kaitlin currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring, the United Way of South-Central Tennessee’s Launch Point Steering Committee, and the Bright Start TN South Central Steering Committee through Tennesseans for Quality Early Education (TQEE). She’s also a longtime tnAchieves mentor. Kaitlin earned her B.S. in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work from Tennessee Tech University. She is a 2025 graduate of Leadership Rutherford, a program that deepened her commitment to civic involvement and regional development. |
